Silent Valley is one of the extensively researched National Parks in India. There is a vast amount of information available on the Park's biodiversity and ecology. Research activities are conducted within the National Park in order to fill the gaps in the knowledge and also to help management. Regular monitoring programs including Tiger, Elephant and Nilgiri Tahr population estimation is being conducted within the park on annual basis.
