Lemon grass oil is extracted from partially dried leaves of lemon grass (Cymbopogon citratus) by a process of steam distillation. Lemon grass oil has antibacterial, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory properties. Lemongrass oil offers immediate pain relief while it reduces inflammation. It can be used as a muscle relaxer and also used for treating headache. Lemongrass oil is also a mood enhancer. Additionally, it is used as a flea repellent.

Stingless bee honey/ Cheruthen is considered twice as nutritious and medicinal as ordinary honey. It is because stingless bee collects nectar and pollen from small wild growing plants and trees compared to bigger bees which usually circulate in large flowers of big trees. The Stingless bees/ cherutheneecha (Trigona iridipennis) usually nest in the crevices of walls and tree trunks. They are a difficult species to domesticate and the honey production by a stingless bee colony is just about 350 grams to 1kg of honey in a year which makes it costlier. This honey is collected from the pristine forests of Western Ghats. Stingless bee honey reduces obesity, if used daily with warm water. When simply used with a glass of drinking water it can be used to cure lack of sleep/anxiety. It has high antimicrobial properties and can be used to treat wounds. It also cures cough, stomach ulcers and eye infections.
